Waking Up Pregnant by Mira Lyn Kelly

It starts with a rather unpleasant dose of reality.
Not exactly a charming entrance or re-introduction for Jeff and Darcy. Nothing says we’re now connected for life, like a bun in the oven.
Darcy struggles to come to terms with the fact that people want to look after her and make sure both she and the baby are all right. After being independent and surviving on her own for so long it takes a little getting used to.
Meanwhile Jeff is trying to figure out a way to fit Darcy and a baby into his future plans and present life.
It felt as if there was a conversation missing from the story between Jeff and old girlfriend before she just disappears from sight and mind. Then again the fact that is was so simple to let go of the old girlfriend is a good indication of the lack of bond between the two of them. Jeff steps quite easily into the new setting, so maybe the connection to Darcy all those months ago was deeper than they both thought.
It was a comfortable and comforting read with a good mixture of real life scenario and romantic fiction, but it could have perhaps been a little stronger in some parts of the book.
I received a copy of this book courtesy of Harlequin UK and Mills & Boon.
